FAQs

Do you use the Muldowney Protocol?

Many EDS specialists follow the Muldowney exercise protocol for all EDS or hypermobile patients. I use many varied approaches and complex problem-solving abilities when working with patients. Because I have EDS myself, I have an intuitive ability to know how to proceed. I have worked with patients who have tried his protocol and not solved their pain issues, including myself. We do not use any protocols in this clinic.

Why are your cash-pay rates lower than others?

I operate with very low overhead and being both owner and practitioner, I can take advantage of efficiencies that other clinics can not. I can give you the benefit of exhausting your insurance benefits, while also offering reasonably priced alternative and holistic services that are not covered by insurances. These cash-pay add-on wellness sessions help you get the quality care you need, and help me to stay in business in a climate of diminishing payments from insurances.

Do you require a referral from my doctor?

Referrals are not required. Insurances, however, will require a prescription before they will pay.

Do you use PTA’s or PT Techs?

No, at this time I am the only employee. I am anticipating demand that could result in wait lists, so at some point I may consider training a PTA or hiring another DPT when that time comes, but never a PT tech, as they are not trained professionals. They have no further training to help the patient perform exercises with proper posture to reduce pain from doing exercises with the wrong muscles.

Do you take out of state patients?

Yes, absolutley! I’ll take patients from anywhere. If you have nationwide insurance, we can verify coverage before you come. If not, we offer discounted cash pay prices. I will always be willing to discuss a private contract agreement with you as well. Our clinic is only 10 minutes from motels and restaurants, and I’m happy to assist with travel arrangements.
